history, excited about the future, Founded
in 1971 Bavolak Electric aggressively sought work on larger and more complicated jobs in its growing years. Along the way, some of the projects presented significant challenges. The Castle was a residence built by a lumber baron in the early 1900s. This three-story building with full basement, servant's quarters, a three story round turret and a carriage house, including a roundhouse for horse drawn wagons, was one of the exceptional jobs the company has completed. Bavolak Electric's main source of business in the early years was the homeowners in the surrounding communities. The company still works regularly with many of its original customers and has worked on homes for some individuals who had gone from starter homes to their current residences. Karl established the working philosophy the company lives by today: We must provide the highest level of service while providing a safe and legal electrical installation. This business philosophy has worked well over the years, and customers call regularly, asking for a specific electrician, someone they know and trust.
Bavolak Electric employees are constantly pushing the envelope to keep up with new technologies for our trade. We were one of the first companies to tackle the new energy efficient lighting systems and have retrofitted the lighting systems of more than 400 local businesses. We have installed the cat5 data cabling for many of the nationwide restaurant chains in the Twin Cities, and we are currently working with Innovative Power Systems, installing renewable energy power systems such as solar roofs and wind generators. F In what is still the infancy of the electronic revolution, Bavolak Electric has installed wiring for the SAT systems in "the Dales" malls, Local Area Networks, dedicated and isolated circuitry for computer installations, and communications wiring. All of these are the coming age of the electrical industry. Consulting with suppliers and computer installation companies in the Metropolitan area, Bavolak has kept pace with new and emerging technologies and remains locked into its "we can do anything" philosophy.

Electric was a one-man company for several years until George Bavolak
joined his father in 1976. They
quickly expanded to a crew of five electricians, with Karl as the master
electrician and George as the field supervisor and working electrician.
When
Saturday Night Fever hit the movie screens and the Disco craze
swept the nation, Bavolak Electric was in the middle of it all, wiring
one of the first discotheques in the metro area. Five years
later, with over twenty discotheques to its credit, the company has
established itself as a resourceful and dependable group willing to
tackle any challenge. The lessons learned installing clean
sound systems for discotheques were almost immediately useful in the upcoming
computer and LAN wiring industry.
